What Salon Products Manufacturer Need To Do

If They Are Serious About Diversion…

• Code and track products domestically, as well as internationally.

• Insist that all domestic distributors police their salon clients by using a secondary coding system you devise. This will impede product collectors’ efforts.

• Use product coding that is not easily or cheaply removed by diverters.

• Insist that all salons sign anti-diversion contracts with their distributors, which allows them to monitor their sales.

• Have the right and obligation to randomly audit shipments of products from distributors to salons.

• Terminate distributors and their salons when proven to be directly responsible for diversion.

• Have a buy-back program in place with distributors to prevent product dumping by terminated distributors.

• Use slightly different product label design or print ‘Not For Re-Sale In The U.S’. on products sold for foreign markets.

If YOU have more real ideas about really slowing down diversion, please send them directly to the product manufacturer executives. SAD provides you with their direct contact info under each company's profile page.
